I'm not looking for anything fancy; just a simple, basic one. Something at a good, reasonable price. All I'm going to use it for is school and typing stuff out.

Hp Asus and Lenovo are the top brands in my honest opinion, save some money and spend at least 500 bucks on a laptop, the ones below that are not very well made and you'll find yourself buying another a year down the line.

You can check on newegg they usually have some decent refurbished ones selling for cheap.

You can easily find something in the 299-349 dollar range to fit your need. If you're using it for just like web, school and music it doesn't have to be top of the line. Just check some online sites and maybe some sales ads for retail stores.
