No Plans for Paid Need for Speed DLC; Runs at 30 FPS for Both Consoles; Garage Capacity Limited to Five Cars

EA has published a long FAQ list for Need for Speed, and it reveals a number of interesting new pieces of information. The PC version ofthe gamewas recently delayed, in order to give the team more time to improve the visuals.

The FAQ revealed that EA has “no plans” as of right now to produce paid DLC for the game. Instead of paid DLC, they intend on rolling out free content updates.

“We plan to release a series of free content updates for Need for Speed. We currently have no plans for any paid DLC.”

In another answer, they revealed their target of 30 FPS for both PS4 and Xbox One consoles. The reason for that is the usual, as they explained it’s to ensure “your gameplay experience remains incredibly smooth.”

“We always look to maximize the game technology with the platform technology for the experience we’re building, which is why the game will run at 30fps on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. By doing this we ensure that your gameplay experience remains incredibly smooth and allows you to experience the high speed, adrenaline fuelled gameplay that you’ve come to expect from the Need for Speed series.”

This may come as a bit of sad news for car collectors out there, since you will only be limited to five cars in your garage. We still don’t know if you will be able to buy an extra garage or not.

“We believe in creating a bond and relationship with your cars. It’s about finding a ride and taking it from stock, to stock plus awesome through some of the deepest customization in Need for Speed history. You will have a five car garage – if you fill all your spaces, you can chose to sell and purchase a new car, or continue to max out your current ride through the extensive performance upgrades available to you so you can take on anyone on the streets.”

Finally, Need for Speed won’t have micro-transactions of any kind.

“There will be no micro transactions.”

Need for Speed launches on November 3 for the PS4 and Xbox One, with the PC version coming in 2016.

Part of the conversation includes hearing from our PC community that an unlocked frame rate in Need for Speed is a massive priority for you, and we fully agree. To deliver this, we’ve made the decision to move the PC release date to Spring 2016.

“… This decision on PC gives us the necessary development time to increase the visuals that we can deliver on PC. We will also include content updates that will have been released on console up to that time, making them available to all PC players from day one.”
And the PC version gets delayed til Spring 2016. :mjlol:

They're offering the dlc's for free so they have to make their money they would usually get from dlc sales elsewhere I guess :yeshrug:
