I drive 100 miles roundtrip on my daily commute (only 3-4 months of the year), so I need something with pretty good gas mileage. I would just go with a Prius or the like, but they just don't have the hp I need for maneuvering on LA's freeways. I drove a friend's Lexus CT 200h and it fools you into thinking it has get up...it doesn't, lol.

I'm considering so far 2013-14 Honda Accord LX, 2013+ Malibu Eco, 2012+ Ford Focus Titanium, 2013+ Hyundai Sonata Hybrid....any other suggestions?

If you're just getting a commuter car, might as well just get a small car like the civic, mazda 3, ect. If its all highway mileage, they should give you at least 30-40 mpg and they're light enough to move pretty quickly.

Since you considering the new Accord, I would get the EX-L model over the LX, they run around $20-22k w/ low miles. It has leather, navigation, push to start (key fob, no keys needed to open either), sunroof, the camera for the right mirror, heated seats, lane departure etc. Basically it has every option as the v-6 w/o the v6 and the led headlights. If you don't care about any of those features/options then get the LX.
