need help finding an old song

it was in 2006 or 2007, i used to hear it all the time on galaxy radio (urban beat), this is a cable provided radio network, anyway the song i believe is by a white artist, he talks about his girl for most of the song and at one point i believe he mentions that she stuck by him in the hospital, but for the life of me i cannot remember anything else and now its bugging me
