Its always been like that, even on When you were in the red if you pos or neg repped somebody all they would get was those grey reps which meant nothing. They didn't add or take away rep.

If you're in the red you get negged left and right because they know you can't neg back, once you're in the red you basically can't come out of it because of this

Easy solution is to

- be a better poster
- stop worrying about rep
