UGK came out with no co-sign and were the first from Port Arthur.

UGK was the exact opposite.
for starters, UGK werent stars, they were regional guys.
they didnt have any national relevance until like year 15 after 1,000 constant cosigns from texas, georgia & louisianna rappers. THE POLAR OPPOSITE OF WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT HERE.
After Luda had already got himself hot.
I never knew and im sure most aren’t familiar with their affiliation. Face didn’t jump on any singles or promote him like that.
Luda would’ve popped no matter where he signed imo. Again, I don’t think most rap fans know they even have a relationship.
Its not like 50/Em, Em/Dre, To a lesser extent Boosie & Webbie to UGK, etc.
ehh. if you think scarface had nothing to do with ludacris blowing up, thats cool. but you cant turn around and credit boosie/webbie to UGK, when boosie/webbie blew up in markets where people couldnt name a UGK song.

now as for luda, it wasnt really about the scarface cosign. it was about ludacris being the launching pad for def jam south in general. it was the def jam cosign.
and i do agree that ludacris wouldve blew up regardless, but his career arc wouldve been completely different. he wouldve made that novelty rap money for a few years and wouldve been long forgotten.
