Nelly's tour bus got nailed in Tennessee for a bunch of alleged offenses -- and the rapper himself got hauled off to jail for felony marijuana possession.

A state trooper pulled over the bus Saturday morning for not having a required Dept. of Transportation sticker ... and when the officer got a strong whiff of pot ... he decided to conduct a search.

Cops say they found a baggie with crystal rocks that tested positive for meth, and a small amount of marijuana in the sleeper area of the bus. They say they also found quite the stash of guns -- a .50 caliber pistol, a .45 caliber pistol, and a .500 magnum Smith and Wesson.

Nelly was booked for the marijuana and for drug paraphernalia -- cops say there were about 100 small Ziplock bags commonly used for the sale of drugs. Another passenger, Brian Jones, was busted for possession of a handgun.

Million-selling rapper Nelly, who had a No. 1 single in 2002 with “Hot in Herre,” was charged Saturday morning with felony drug possession after a stop in Putnam County (Cookeville), the Tennessee Highway Patrol said in a Saturday news release.

Nelly, 40, whose real name is Cornell Haynes, was charged with felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a trooper stopped a Prevost motor coach bus at 9:20 a.m. on Interstate 40 near the 275 mile marker, the release said.

The bus was stopped, the release said, because it did not display two required stickers. A trooper said he was investigating when he noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the bus.

Two troopers then searched the bus, finding a plastic bag that contained five rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The release said “approximately 100 small Ziploc bags that are commonly associated with the sale of narcotics” was found, but none of the six people on the bus were charged with the sale of drugs.

Several handguns were reported to be found, including a gold-plated .50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol, a .45-caliber Tarus pistol and a 500-magnum Smith and Wesson, the release said.

Another man on the bus, Brian Jones, 44, of St. Louis was charged with being a felon in possession of a handgun. The other four were not charged.

The bus was believed to be en route to St. Louis, Nelly’s hometown. The rapper and Jones were taken to the Putnam County Jail.
