KRS is literally one of the best MC's every, within the top 5. Nelly doesn't even make it to the 20th spot when it comes to MCing, and if we go deep in Hip Hop he doesn't even make it to the 50th place. How is someone like that going to defeat someone who's a top 5 MC?
In a true b-boy setting he not only gets laughed off or booed off the stage, but even far worse. And deep down Nelly knows this.
Nelly knows he has no legions with respected MCs and actual Hip Hop heads.

In real time, KRS lost point blank period. Ain’t no age thing or revisionist history about it. Nelly got props for standing up like a man and going toe to toe with him, and KRS came off sounding like a bitter washed up hater, and even he gave props to Nelly later on. Had nothing to do with visibility and billboard charts.
