Good political slogans are straight and to the point, they shouldn't require research. Black Lives Matter means just that. Dumbass conservatives tried to make it into "white people don't matter" but that is an interpretation that implies something not directly said in the slogan.

Defund the police means just that. Take money away from the police. It doesn't require any inference to get that meaning. It says what it says. It doesn't say, "demilitarize the police" or "disempower police unions" it says "DEFUND THE POLICE". Hell, some far leftists straight up said, "Defund and abolish the police".

There's no twisting of meaning, there's people taking words at face value.
