You shouldn’t be scared of flying… majority of crashes now are pilot error and the planes they flying usually old as fukk.. newer aircraft its damn near next to impossible to crash even on pilot error.. This plane that crashed is 30 years old.. Aircraft manufacturers have a 30 year warranty on the airframes.. after that you playing with fire.. That’s why if you notice majority of commercial aircraft Carriers update their fleet after the 15-20 year mark..
I'm also scared to fly, even though I know the safety of planes. It's one thing to intellectually understand something, and another when you're in a few tons of metal thousands of feet in the sky. Neverthless, I still fly. There are two types of people that are scared to fly:
A. Those that are and just don't do it.
B. Those that are but understand that it's safe intellectually, so go through the discomfort so they can see the world.
I just make sure I have some jack daniels before I get on the plane, and while I'm on and it helps to calm the nerves. I'm typically fine after take off when we're at cruising height. One thing to add regarding the safety of planes. I read that if the average car had to go through the type of inspections, maintenance and constant upgrading/replacement of parts as planes, it would last like 30 years.
Also, I only fly jumbo jets. fukk a small plane or helicopter.
