@ the OP: What were you using before making the jump to a Mac? What do you want to do with it?
Was using a bullshyt lenovo laptop. I am primarily doing a lot of writing, photo editing and video editing. I want to put some music on it and maybe get a dj application and explore the possibilities

theres a free app in the store called virtual dj home. in fact, open the app store and look around. theres a lot of free joints, and paid that give you an idea of whats what
also, get yourself a windows 7 disc and install it on bootcamp. dual boot
windows runs like a dream on this bytch. i use it to PC game, no issues

A mac retains its value very well
You could sell a 2 year old mac for over 50% of retail value

I wish you guys would do research before dropping so much money on something that can be done at about a third of the price.
MAC has a good build everything is top notch when it comes to hardware.

I'll have you know I test drove 2 windows laptops before I settled on my mac

Until Microsoft makes a Surface Book there or until Nokia makes a true Windows laptop... until then no PC can compete with a MAC when it comes to hardware build

But to direct your post...it doesn't matter, with the money you spent on that single Mac I could have bought 3 windows laptops with similar performance. That's just considering the low end macbook also...if its the MacBook Pro? Then that will net me 5-6 laptops with similar performance. The only advantage the mac will have is the pixel density.
