What's your solution for those that are already here?
Obama's plan to basically offer amnesty then cut them ALL off.

You can't deport them all. Its impossible. Its messy. Its...just a waste of energy.

But continuing to support illegal immigration or delaying approval of Obama's plan hurts this country.

More rational than expected.

I think the other side of this argument is logical but so is yours.

of course it is.

See, the problem is all of these emotional hacks like @Melbournelad and @tmonster (who are decent posters but seem to live in this world where there are no threats, only the USA is bad, and asserting yourself is literally being like hitler. They argue like young liberal college kids. I get it. I was once one of those...free of responsibility) and others who think that all of these emotional arguments do anything to address the very real problems of employment, social and public identity, and government control. These things are at the core of the nation and have a very real effect on the masses of people who only manage to etch out a meager existence of their own.

They want to hold the USA to a standard no other nation does, yet when we "break up families" its like we're the bad guy. Its just not true. There are rules that we have in place and we can't just abandon them to make people feel better. Immigration used to be about getting the best and the brightest...now its about cheating the system (which is in need of reform, i'll admit) and getting ahead of others who have way more to offer the country than cheap labor and non-english speakers.

:salute:

A lot of people on this site seem to have the bolded mindset. My college 101 classes were all young ultra liberals. I liked being the devils advocate so Id just troll them with highly conservative bullshyt. They couldn't argue their points outside of making emotional pleas :camby:

Every poll I take places me as "liberal"...I get it. But I'm a realist too and being a bit of a nihilist makes it possible for me to be even more "nationalistic" in the sense that I see the end goal of how geopolitics and international affairs works. Its really eye opening when you consider how things like running the country works. Its less about emotion to me...its about enacting standards that can be fluid over time, but should at least address present concerns and problems.

Immigration is a huge one that has gone far too long unchecked and led to a massive drag on how this country does things.

Everyone out here isn't your friend. Not everyone cares about you, nor would they reciprocate. This is more than individuals seeking a better life, its about a massive movement of people who as a whole radically change how things are done in the US.

I hold the US to the same standard I hold any other state. You however clearly do not, you excuse the US under the guise of "national interest". You won't find any posts I've made criticising the US for something I wouldn't criticise another state for.

I just have two questions for you, cheerleader.

1. What is the role and objective of the state?
2. Economically, what is the governments highest priority goal?

And before you reply that it's off topic, just answer the questions:comeon:

You coli economists realize wealth creation is dependent on the number or poor we have. Yeah?
So with that in mind would you prefer it be you or illegal immigrants?
I'd PREFER it was people who already lived here.

Illegal immigrants don't have the same legal protections and entitlements so they get to escape most of the oversight and thus remove opportunities from people who already are struggling to get their own piece of the pie.

It's necessary to have a real unseen underclass unfortunately. Ivory tower imbeciles like yourself can't seem to grasp that. What's your real world business experience? Don't have any do you you yuppie c*nt.
