Hackers, programmers, engineers and scientists will all have to team up and come up with an alternative internet. I don't understand why we have to rely on ISPs anyway.

That's all that's going to happen. This is going to backfire on traditional ISP's because new companies are going to be created because of this.

Next year the traditional ISP's will be suffering. Going to start watching them stock prices fall and investors jumping off roofs.

ISPs like AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast have tremendous pricing power. They will lobby the FCC to prevent any possible competitors.

I wish it was that simple but these companies lobby state legislative to put in laws blocking local broadband municipals from getting off the ground. They literally pay states to sign 10 year contracts to built up internet infrastructures and for ten years don't do shyt but sit there and make excuses about why it isn't in their best interest to build a network while not letting eager competition thrive.

One of the greatest tools for free speach, networking, and acquiring information is about to enter a slow death and even though you could see it coming from a mile away, no one cared to look until it was way too late to do anything about it:francis:

The paid packages wont come right away, internet providers know people wont accept wholesale changes at once, the changes will be gradual so people will slowly begin to compromise on what they can deal with and do without. But really the scary part about all of this will be the ability for ips to restrict any content they want, and essentially turn the internet into a propaganda machine for their own purposes.

Oh well, im bout to start downloading a bunch of pdfs and video tutorials on anything ive vaguely been intersted in over the years.
And don’t invest shyt like their chiming now.

People will find a way.
