Google fiber had a few big companies shook like the poster before me said they gave Google hell making all types of petitions to keep them out of cities . . .if they can make Google say fukk it . . .what you think they can do to small time companies . . .Google got into the internet game to shake things up and for the most part wherever city it touched other providers changed how they operated getting rid of bandwidth caps and all this "needed" nonsense . .Google is by no means a hero they track your surfing habits sell information blah blah blah . . But these older monsters is something else if they have it their way we'll all be workers forever and you won't have to worry about being brought out by a bigger fish because you won't have a chance to start your own business.
And yeah people will find ways but once that way is discovered companies will lobby and have legislate craft bills to make sure you don't do that shyt twice.
We already have companies swallowing up other big companies creating super monopolies, Disney buying fox
t mobile wanting to buy sprint . . We have monsters gobbling up monsters while killing competition and jobs, and they'll brag about creating 10,000 new jobs while destroying 67,000 current positions. And officials want you to get excited at the proposed benefits that never come, while prices continue to go up(look into charter spectrum buying twc internet) we literally watch richer people become richer and use us to foot the bill.
The only reason sprint didn't merge with t mobile is because Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son(owner of sprint) wanted to have more stake in the new merged company t-mobile didnt agree which makes sense why would you let the failing companies CEO have a meaningful stake or decision in the direction of the new company. Mayayoshi Son still would have had a decent stake just not enough to make any decisions regarding the companies future.

If this really does take effect it will seriously hurt cable and satellite providers. If it comes down to it I believe most people will pay for their internet rather than cable. Internet is a necessity in this day age. Directv and all those other companies will see a massive loss of money if this comes to fruition
