it's a bullshyt tax. if anything people are just gonna quit netflix and pirate the shyt... Or netflix themselves are gonna come down and side with the people because if chicago even attempts to pass this, other cities might do this too. Also they paying the cable / phone companies for isp service plus netflix, and now someone else?!!?

I hope this doesn't pass or we're all in trouble. The problem I have with American government/capitalism is the local city/municipalities have too much power. As in the city council gets to vote on waaaaay too much shyt with out public vote or input. Some of the local governments in this country is borderline communism

Yeah I clearly and admittedly don't know bout the specifics of this Chicago situation. ..hence the question marks, the double tax caveat, and the "in theory" in my post... my point is i don't have a problem with the general idea of the taxing of Internet based services...current legality aside, as we grow towards more Internet based commerce, it's an inevitability
