In the Pelligrini scenes he's often the only "non-white" person on screen for minutes at a time, yet NOBODY recognizes him.
Maybe they're trying to comment on how "invisible" Black people are seen in that society...nah, its just shaky writing.

I don't think it's shaky writing, just suspension of disbelief. Silly fun type shyt

But to your invisibility point it's not too wild of a notion. I think it's why something like the janitor disguise works. Because who pays attention to janitors?

But even then SOMEBODY noticed

I think overall the disguises work in context and not from the perspective of a viewer that follows the Lupin the entire show

I agree. dude is a big black nikka in paris and just cuz he puts his head down, no one recognizes him despite him being wanted by the entire city.

Just finished the end of Season 1

So buddy deals with the dude sent to follow him and his family on the train celebrating his son bday

He gets dude arrested

Then he acts like everything fine
And lets his son just wander off like there can't be more people following him:francis:

Then after the son gets taken

Dude just trust some random guy to help him
As if the guy (who really is the cop) cant be lying to set him up:francis:

Some books go way beyond a story. Omar Sy is Assane Diop gentleman-thief, in Lupin. Coming in January on Netflix.

The legendary gentleman thief is ready for an upgrade. The first teaser for Netflix's Lupin live-action series offers our first glimpse at Omar Sy's modern take on the beloved master of disguise.

The trailer opens with Sy's Assane Diop telling the audience to imagine what it would be like to inherit a treasure. He then reveals that that's exactly what happened to him when at a young age, he met someone who would change his life. The mysterious person left young Assane everything he had, which included "incredible treasures, endless resources, and several lives to enjoy them."

But wait, it gets even more mysterious. Assane shares that he was given a book from Arsène Lupin "that tells more than a mere story." At this point, we realize that Assane's life is full of adventure as he is shown looking like a custodian but also suiting up to meet the wealthy folks. Of course, his way of life is not without risks and there are several glimpses at the action he has to go through in the show.

Lupin is based on the books and stories of Maurice Leblanc which enchanted readers since 1905. The character Arsène Lupin would go on to inspire several adaptations including the famous Monkey Punch manga Lupin the Third. The new Netflix series is obviously a new adaptation that brings Lupin's story to modern times and we have a feeling this show will eventually convince everyone that James Bond can and should be played by a black man.

Lupin has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere on Netflix in January 2021.

He said he knew he was a cop the whole time.

The funny shyt though was when Mrs Pelligrini admitted to being his benefactor and he was shocked. I was there like of course it was her who else would have paid for your school. I thought he knew when they told he was going there.
