Netflix announced on Thursday that it is raising prices for its standard plan and premium plan for U.S. consumers.
The two-stream HD Standard plan will increase from $12.99 to $13.99 while the four-stream 4K Premium plan is raising from $15.99 a month to $17.99. The one-stream SD plan will remain priced at $8.99 a month.
All new subscribers will pay this price while current subscribers will see the price increase over the next few months, according to a Netflix representative who spoke to
Variety. An email will be sent to all subscribers notifying them of the increase, and a notification will appear within the Netflix app 30 days before the price takes effect from that user's account.
Netflix last raised their prices in January 2019.
