Fair enough, but they're implying kids don't care about new hardware. GTA 6 and any other new games ain't gonna be on Netflix anytime soon. Thus they're gonna need hardware

I don't think anything Netflix has to say about gaming or film is valuable. As a company they are completely dominated by venture capital groupthink and their strategy to destabilize markets always revolves around flooding it with slop. So they not only think consoles are irrelevant, they think good games are irrelevant too. Just like good movies are irrelevant. Goal is to just flood you with trash that appeals to whatever the algorithm is. And yet they apparently can't make a game to save their lives. I wonder why lol.
Consoles continue to break records in the middle of pandemics and recessions meanwhile the usual suspects continue to hold hands and chant about the supposed death of console gaming. 
The stan stuff is usually funny but this particular talking point is pretty cut and dry.
Ima need a consensus from the big 3 (Sony, MS, and Nintendo) saying “consoles are dead” and not just the last place team and a streaming company claiming “consoles are dead” before I join in on the faux concern and trolling about how everyone else is dumb except them.

Kids today don’t care about any of the stuff we spend our energy on here debating about.
“console style” games will probably always have their audience, but we don’t even have to speculate. Right now, today, in 2025 consoles and console style games have already lost their dominance over the industry. There’s no indication that, that trend will reverse any time soon.

Netflix also bought the rights to Monday Night Raw and are purposely holding back over 20+ years of episodes, so why would I listen to anything these people have to say. Consoles are never going anywhere and even if 8yr olds don't want a console the 18+ crowd continues to buy them in record numbers.

This is incorrect.
Console sales have been on the decline for decades now, while every other sector of gaming is growing.
I agree there will probably always be a market for consoles and console style games.
But from an investment standpoint, consoles and console games are already the least promising sector of the industry.
Nobody is saying consoles are dead, just that adults are the primary consumers.
The people who were into consoles 20-30 years ago as kids are the same people still interested in them now. Which is fine.
