Netflix has always had that 480p plan (for years) tho :skip: y'all really that late?

Unrelated but Netflix already confirmed that they will be releasing an ad-supported version in the near future so that version will probably be an extension of their current basic 480p plan.

Bruh, I just found out that 1080p plan doesn't offer dolby vision. I'm don't want to pay extra for dolby vision and 4k but sometimes it's in the back of my mind. :sadcam: But the 480p plan makes sense for people that watch from mobile* devices.

Yeah but the pixel density on such a small screen can make it near impossible for the average human to distinguish, of course 480 to 4k is reasonable jump but for people on 1080p plan, it's not that big of a deal. It's just a selling point for most. On my OLED, if I turn off AI upscaling, I can't distinguish the difference between 1440p* and 4k at my usual viewing distance. Hell, I would wager with minimal upscaling, it would be hard to tell the difference between 1080p and 4k if you aren't sitting right on top of the screen.
