Shows come and go so quick on these streaming platforms you don’t even remember you wanted to watch them because something new is the talk at the office or on social media. I don’t see the issue. Unless you watching the brand new show right away, you’ll have either a whole season at your disposal if you don’t get to it in a couple months of debut, or a few eps at a time to plow thru if you get it a few weeks in.

Yup they should have done this sooner.

People just subscribe for a month binge watch and cancel.

This is a bad idea for a few reasons. 80% of Netflix’s shows aren’t interesting enough to get me to come back week after week for appointment viewing. Most if not all of their shows have severe pacing problems and significant bloat. I can deal with a bloated episode if the payoff episode comes immediately after. If an episode is kind of whack and I have to wait a week to see the payoff, I’m less likely to revisit it. And god forbid they have two bad episodes in a row. Instant Bush status.

Are shows like stranger things or 13 reasons why even watchable as a weekly series? They’re basically 10 hour movies.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We'll soon get to the point where regular cable will be enticing than all of these streaming services.

They use to have access to enough materials not to worry. Benefit of being the only one in the game. Soon they have to stand on what they produce only.

They have to do this, one, buzz for shows dies so quickly, two, with all the new services, they need a better way to keep you locked into their platform
