not only that but if KD and Kyrie wanted him there and they hired him as an assistant...what happens to Vaughn if he was signed as head coach and there was a slow start? Constant drum beat of promoting Nash. Vaughn would be looking over his shoulder.
Nash either doesnt make it through 2 full seasons and vaughn is promoted or nash is really successful and vaughn is a top candidate elsewhere

Just because he's a "basketball genius" doesn't mean he'll make a great head coach. There are infinite more factors that go into coaching, than just knowing the game. With the cloud of conflict that's followed Rondo on every team he's been on, I can't imagine he'll have the player-coach rapport part figured out from the jump.
