This is the exact same Russell I remember watching with the Lakers. Throws up a bunch of shots, some of them go in; zero effort on defense and zero impact on the game, regardless of his final stat line; team loses.

He hits 50% of his shots his team wins. :francis:

Why are we singling Dlo out for not playing defense when his matchup goes 3-15 and countless other PGs dont play defense also

Good win... Refs bailed tf out of Brooklyn most the game though

Regardless... Good win. I said from the jump Kuz is our starter. He gets the ball, makes his moves and gives it up if he doesn't see shyt. Perfect intelligence especially playing with Lopez/Ball.

Zo shot like shyt once again but him being aggressive meant all the difference. Was a +/- +22 on the floor with 7 assists and no TO's.

If his shot was falling then he would've done even better. Dude seriously needs to get with a specialized coach and work on shooting/finishing drills. I don't think his dads homestyle drills gonna work for him at this level.

But his aggressiveness and barely missing layups was enough to open the game up. He needs to be more active and aggressive on halfcourt too. Too many nikkas standing around with or without the ball.

Russell was his usual self to me... Volume shooter that's poor on defense:yeshrug:

Even with the gross ass shooting, I'll take lonzo over Russell all day

Lonzo can be a good guard on a winning team

Dangelos hih volume shooting and lack of defense isn't a recipe for success

Also, low key lonzo is a decent help defender, good defensive rebounder, and good defensive instincts

Both Lonzo and Ingram have good defensive instincts. Russell is still the same Russell. Everytime he takes a jumpshot with the weak/lazy base :hhh:

Low key Lonzo is a better defender than most give him credit. He's slow to react sometimes but still recovers well

It's mostly just smart defense and having the length to bother smaller guys.

And to be real, Luke needs to find some plays to incorporate that helps Lonzo score or get some easy shots. If he can get a couple easy ones I'm sure his confidence will increase. He doesn't have a go-to play or a go-to move it seems

Most of that is rookie shyt though. Especially with less than 10 games

But yeah, I said it when Dlo was here. Dude is just another guard that can score but a terrible defender

Lonzo has long arms, has quick feet, and is a smart of enough basket ball player to recognize what the opposing teams offense is trying to do. Playing defense is just pure effort for him. It's good that effort hasn't dropped after these past lackluster games. He looks comfortable on that side of the ball. That makes letting him play through his shooting woes and learn on the fly easier. I think Lonzo probably realizes that.

I can't believe there's still some of LWO caping for this dude. You've been hip to his game from the start - even if you were looking out from your Michigan glasses.

:lolbron:
Uh?? The season is early but first ten games D-Lo still looks better than first ten games Ball. Call a spade a spade bro, the man is struggling to score in this league.

And Lonzo is less athletic than D-Lo :picard:

nikkas trying to shyt on D'Lo like that somehow changes the fact that Lonzo is complete garbage. D'Lo on his WORST day is infinitely better at basketball than that bum ass nikka Lonzo Bust will ever be

What makes you think I believe Lonzo is better than Dlo?

And what posts might these be?

:mjpls:
:beli:

Come on man, you don't see how transparent these LWO brehs are? Now they realize all of D-lo's limitations while simultaneously propping up Lonzo as if he isn't a deeply flawed player (granted, it is far too early to project how his game will fair 50 games from now let alone a few years down the road).

Idk man, it kinda annoys me how Russell was never afforded the benefit of the doubt the way Ingram and Lonzo have been.

If you're referring to @Regular_P's post that I dapped about Dlo's play, he's been saying the same thing (as have I) even when Dlo was on the Lakers. @Regular_P has always been consistent with his take on him.

LWO gon' LWO.

:patrice:

Plenty of LWO were giving Dlo the benefit of the doubt when he was on the team, and even when he was traded they were still defending him (check out the trade thread, and the thread about him being the Most Improved Player this season - dudes wishing that he was still on the team to partner Lonzo). I really don't think too highly of Lonzo nor Dlo to really defend one over the other.
