So, finally part of Cut Cable Crew and decided to upgrade my network in the process. I've had Fios for years now, and went ahead w/ their 50 mb plan and just dropped their TV. New router/modem came today, so I swapped everything out and seems to be good (model is the G1100).
I had their older version before, combined w/ an Apple Airport Extreme, and that was what ran and broadcast my network. Now, seems that Verizon is trying to take this away from me, and I can't get their router to bridge and my AE to be the main. From what I read online, it's got something to do w/ Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS Channels) and Apple maybe taking away the ability to select which channel(s) to use.
My only other option in the area here is ComCrap and I'm not trying to go back to them. Speeds on their 5ghz frequency deliver though.
EDIT: And yes, this is VERY first world problems.
Just want to be sure there isn't an issue w/ their routers at all since I hadn't had this problem before.
