According to a new PWInsider.com report, because there is no real strategy or direction in place, WWE Network employees are said to be “walking on eggshells.” One example given was the Cougar Countdown special done on Vickie Guerrero, which WWE ordered employees to produce when Vickie left in June, however they were given no specific details on when the special would air. Things were said to be very “last minute” regarding the show.

WWE will be making a network subscriber announcement on Thursday, and there is backstage fear that Network employee cuts will be made following the announcement.

In terms of Network viewership, it’s being said unless there is a live PPV, a live Main Event, or a live NXT special airing, the audiences watching the rest of the Network’s programming are not huge by any means.

It's too bad. Wrestling was always niche but it was much more mainstream at certain times during the Rock N' Wrestling era or The Attitude Era. Simply put, they haven't captured their newer fans. These kids will watch RAW or SD!, maybe a PPV and be done with it. Unfortunately they don't have much interest in the history of wrestling, they don't have the attention span either. Some of it is WWE's fault because everything is so cookie cutter now you can tune in and out at any point and feel like you're not missing much...

I love the network because I love going back and watching all the old school piff but I'm probably in the minority. I have a bad feeling about this network shyt. For those of us who are eating right now, continue to feast because sooner or later they are probably going to try to get cute and put more emphasis on shyt we don't want to watch.

I'm really worried about their long term future. What type of product are they going to put out and how are they going to pull new fans? I don't know that they even know. As a fan, this is a cause for concern

I love the network, but this shyt isnt lasting two years. :to:
I think it's too late to go back. They have to keep pushing forward and brace themselves to take more losses. They've already given the PPV companies the middle finger and cable TV has shown them that they aren't as valuable as they thought they were. They aren't going out of business anytime soon but they need to get ready for bad times. If anything, I expect the price of the network to skyrocket.

They should've been smarter about doing this, but it is what it is and now they have to figure a way out of the hole they've dug for themselves.

I think at this point they just aren't promoting it right.. There should be commercials on regular tv outside of wwe shows.. And on the day or weekend of a ppv, they should marathon the older ppvs the whole weekends, not just the one from last year.. Also they can't keep trying to ignore the over 18 wrestling fans, it's just as many grown ups that like or would watch if the show was catered to them as well..

They already got everyone's 10 bucks so who gives a shyt how much they're actually watching? :childplease:

Anyway, I hope they do lose more money and get scared. Last time it led to the attitude era and an improved product.

The networks initial 6 month comittment is about to end. So they re about to go hard with the next PPV to make it awesome for the renewed subscriptions.
