First thing is, if you don't respect James Harden's game in terms of the way it looks...or if you think it's gimmicky...that's fine. That's a matter of personal preference that doesn't really address his effectiveness in his prime.
But James Harden 3-5 years ago was absolutely a star and a fantastic scorer. And it was right to praise him and compare him to other great players back then.
That said, James Harden in 2022 looks like a shell of himself. He's out of shape. He plays uninspired basketball. He looks unmotivated.
Put things in the proper context though. Don't compare this James Harden to the best version of your favorite heroes of yesteryear.

We never said James Harden wasn't a star. But even 3-5 years ago, you had 5-8 years of Harden being the most playoff shrinkable superstar arguably ever. And he's recently been given a thread to make an All-Time comparison to Wade and Iverson (who, while somewhat overated, I'm taking over him).
Point out the egregiousness is deserved.
