LG washers are good, otherwise buy Whirlpool group laundry.
Buy Whirlpool group cooking and refrigeration as they’re the General Motors of appliances = service available everywhere and parts are cheap to replace.

I had to repair my Samsung fridge, came with the house. A lot of them have that critical design flaw where the water drain line will freeze up and cause water leaks because the OEM heating element is faulty. Had to unplug the fridge, remove all our food, let it thaw for half a day, and then disassemble that panel in the back just to install a $6 part. :martin:

I honestly wish I had one of those indestructible 1950s fridges. They're inefficient but you know it's gonna work right.

Every brand these days is not built to last.

Germans make decent home appliances, names such as Miele, Liebherr, sometimes Bosch are decent. But they don't import many of those to North America.

Asian brands? Ehh, used to be better.

It really makes me sad how disposable everything is there days. Everything designed to be thrown out in a few years so you can buy a new one.

My grandparents got a fridge down in the basement that's probably been running for 50-60 years straight. New Korean appliances probably won't even make it half that lifespan and cost 4x.

Yeah most of those who repair electronics will tell you, if you have a home appliance that's originally made about 7-10 years ago, and if it still works decently for you, there is no point in buying new models. The energy saving class thing is gimmicked up to attract buyers. The more extra options it has, the more likely it's gonna stop working. The touchscreen panel instead of old fashioned mechanical buttons is one of the most requested things to repair in home appliances all over the world. It is ridiculous. It's a lottery on what you buy.

Hopefully it didn't explode during another family dinner where y'all were all discussing how you weren't voting Democrat. And definitely hope you weren't hosting a dinner for all the socially awkward, mumble-mouthed young black men you mentor!
