Never Forget is a thread series where you and I - your host, Taadow - revisit hits that have been placed in the attic of our minds. Today, Beenie Man - "Who Am I?"

"B-B-BUT WAS IT REALLY A HIT??"

Billboard UK Singles Chart Peak: #10
Billboard Hot Rap Singles Peak: #6
Billboard Hot R&B Singles Peak: #15

AFTERMATH:

- This is the one that got the modern dancehall music wave poppin' off;
it switched from the roots reggae flavor to this kinda thing. Rappers started name-checkin'
this, so the transistion was smooth.

Lotta folk now are making a big deal about carribean-flavor tracks, it ain't new.

Capleton hammered him excessively over that line during their beef.

You're forgetting the line before that, so it went

"How can I
Make love to a fella?
In a rush, pass me the keys to mi truck?"

The way the bars were set confused people lol
