Capleton hammered him excessively over that line during their beef.

Literally too

Beenie crossed paths unexpectedly with Capleton's entourage down inna jamaica Norman Manley Airport and those bobo dreads running with Capelton preceded to kick the living shyt outta Beenie Man...

Two Rasta also caught beenie taking a piss by the side of the road up in the mountain's. they parked their car and one had an ak and the other a machete and upon seeing them he ran down the hill.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Never Forget is a thread series where you and I - your host, Taadow - revisit hits that have been placed in the attic of our minds. Today, Beenie Man - "Who Am I?"

"B-B-BUT WAS IT REALLY A HIT??"

Billboard UK Singles Chart Peak: #10
Billboard Hot Rap Singles Peak: #6
Billboard Hot R&B Singles Peak: #15

AFTERMATH:

- This is the one that got the modern dancehall music wave poppin' off;
it switched from the roots reggae flavor to this kinda thing. Rappers started name-checkin'
this, so the transistion was smooth.

Lotta folk now are making a big deal about carribean-flavor tracks, it ain't new.

Bruh...this track is unforgettable, tbh

Lol shyt makes me laugh just thinkin about the fun times to this song...

DJs usedto always play this shyt with Red Rat in their Reggae set

This was the era of the 90s in Jamaica..breh :manny:

It was on site for gay folks and anything considered suspect at the time

Sodomites were getting STONED like the old bible days on the regular in jamaica at the time

But to be honest....BEENIE was that dude at the time...him and Bounti were running the dancehall game during that time ..

So it was definitely a motive on Capeltons part to attack Beenie......

Cause Clash wise (battling) on the mic...Beenie was no joke...

It began with Capleton taking too long to leave the stage at a show before beenie set and beenie got the crowd to boo.

After the street battles beenie was seen leaping and dancing on stage at a fiery Capleton show.
