Never Forget is a thread series where you and I - your host, Taadow - revisit hits that have been pushed back to the attic of our minds. Today, The Heavster - "Nuttin' But Love".
"B-B-BUT WAS IT REALLY A HIT??"
Billboard Hot 100 Peak: #40
Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks Peak: #13
Billboard Hot Rap Singles Peak: #9
AFTERMATH:
- Why was this a hit? Well...Heavy D was The Overweight Lover.
He had a bunch of cuts where he catered to the ladies. But this one let them know
he wasn't no sucker. He could even say she was beautiful and not knock her
hustle as "he knew her M.O.", but she couldn't play him like them other dudes.
This was valuable to me as a young'un myself.
- At press time, this is one of 3 rap songs my Father liked in the moment.
