AFTERMATH:

As we know, there was a point when Fugees could've farted on the mic and woulda gone plat.
This is a part of that.

Ok sure, I played along with the Bee Gees sample for "We Trying To Stay Alive".
"Guantanamera" was cool.
But this chit here? What the hell, mayne. This chit won awards and chit.

You: "b-b-but, it's not even a rap song..."

Oh - I know, nicca. But I got that chit covered, too.
Don't forget they gave us the version to get jiggy to, and that chit got hellafied play:

I maintain that this is the most wasted talent ever on one song: Clef beat, R.Kelly on the hook, Beyonce
on the background vocals, a Canibus verse...this song did the least with the most ever. Not that it's wack,
but - niccas was callin' this nicca Clef a GENIUS and whatnot....well, maybe he is a genius - he made an adult contemporary soft rock hit about going to sell dope.

And this album was a MONSTER, yo. It had 5 legit hit singles on it and went double plat.
Folks be actin' like this never happened, but naw.

My friend's older sister had the Wyclef album, 'The Carnival', and my boy and I played this all the time, on the way to school, on the old school stereo at the house, just discovering music and cd's at the time was a pretty special thing, such a 90's memory, of playing albums, cd's skipping, trying to fast forward skits.....The remix was on there, and the original played on the radio constantly, loved the 'Stayin Alive' remake, of course the raps weren't shyt, but the melodies and sound was so dope at the time.....This is like 98, I'm maybe 13 years old, but I still play 'Gone Til November'.
