Correct,

The base of ALL of this goes back to the Musical Traditions, Black Folks brought with us here from Africa.

Even the way we "Worship" in Church is by-product of our Africaness.

A few years back I was in a thread on YouTube. This was when Cardi collaborated with Bruno Mars. And these young (especially white) kids were like Bruno Mars created a new style. All the while it’s an imitation of New Jack Swing, reminiscent of BBD’s Poison.

I know what song youre talking about and keeping it a buck, that shyt was trash.

“A pentatonic scale is a five-note scale, while heptatonic is seven notes. That specific scale originates from Africa, particularly West Africa. It is not found in the classical Western tradition or other musical traditions around the world, which have their own unique musical systems.”
(Adam Hudson, The African roots of blues music, the blues scale)

I’d like to hear their Roy Ayers and Skyy from the 70s. Their 80s D Train or Mtume. lol

They actually had hits as in they charted? :ohhh:

And dont remind me of when diddy took over... :snoop: 2001 and 2002 were some shyt. Cant front. MTB 2 was entertaining as hell despite diddy and mtv basically pimping these folks.

Yes, Danity Kane definitely charted. 2 #1 albums(Billboard 200) and 2 Top 10(Hot 100) singles on Billboard. The rap group Da Band and male group Day 26 didn't do as well even though I know a lot folks enjoyed Day 26's album.

My position is pretty clear...

"Boy Bands" are White Folks attempt to steal authentic Black R&B Music and "rebrand" It.

It is a "Christopher Columbus-ing" of Black Music.

The same with "K-Pop".

None of these Non-Black groups give props to were the music got its roots from.

The listeners of this music then go on and assume the Knockoff music is "Authentic".

I don't have an issue with you, I have an issue with the Blatant Theft of Black Music, without any real Credit.

"Boy Bands" were created to to "cater" towards WHITE teenage girls and young women, and not Just "teenage girls and young women" in general.

My point is there was no need for you to make your "position" clear with me. My main point to you is that Black ppl listened to that music. That's it that's all. I don't need a history lesson on the music industry, Black music being appropriated, boy bands or none of that. I'm likely younger than you, but I'm not THAT young.
