The majority of White people have voted for the Republican candidate for a very long time.
For example, White Voters:
2000: 42 (Gore) 55 (Bush)
2004: 41 (Kerry) 58 (Bush)
2008: 43 (Obama) 55 (McCain)
It's a fact without any meaning. In any given election White people are more likely to vote for the Republican candidate, and more White people voted for Obama than Kerry or Gore.
