Yes... I know, but why are you still supportive of Obama/Clinton foreign policy?
Because I want to maintain influence in the world, have a say in major world decisions, and ensure that the USA's interests are always accounted for and never at the whim of another adversarial or more powerful entity.

Theres no equality on the world stage.

But you've noticed that American foreign policy has diminished American power significantly. Vietnam was a huge set back which led to the malaise of the 1970s (and stagflation according to some economists). Iraq has sped up the process of a multi-polar world, has reinvigorated a Shia-Axis of Power in the Middle East which has sucked in America even closer to Saudi Arabia's cock. Moreover, decisions to expand NATO towards Russia after 1991 has allowed Russian nationalists to gain power and create conflicts in the Post-Soviet World.

All the while, elites spin lies about "protecting women" (Afghanistan), "Ridding the world of WMDs" (Iraq), "Safe Zones" (Syria) and on and on and on.

America's influence is ebbing due to its foreign policy.

And yet, when presented with issues throughout the course of time, America has chosen to act to help, assist, or pursue its own goals.

You want things to be far simpler than they are.

I'm afraid that you are projecting what you desire.

I recognize the complexity of the world and I hate that elites are lying to us about what motivates their self-interested actions. Moreover, I detest how common folk can be so sycophantic towards these elites who are making the world more chaotic and dangerous.

I'm not naive to think I'm LITERALLY a decision maker.

But in the geopolitical implications of gradualism, we as a whole, have benefited and may continue to benefit from such sweeping actions and leverage.
