How do you know those are his best if you haven't heard anything else? Yes his voice definitely changed from his earlier work. Listen to Return Of The Boom Bap.
I tend to think that if I didn't like two albums an artist made then I'd be inclined to stay away from the rest of his discography. I will listen to ROTBB but I expect overzealous preachiness.
Just give it a chance bro. You may be surprised. If not it's all good, not everyone's gonna like everyone, but give ROTBB a chance at least.
