New ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Series, ‘Seven Havens’, in Development at Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon is continuing to build out the world of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” with the greenlight of the animated series “Avatar: Seven Havens.”

The new 2D animated series will consist of 26 half-hour episodes spread across two seasons, or Books 1 & 2 in “Avatar” style. News of the pickup comes as “Last Airbender” prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary, with the original show having debuted on Feb. 21, 2005.

“Seven Havens” hails from “Avatar” creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko under the Avatar Studios banner from Nickelodeon Animation in Burbank. It is currently in production.

Per the official logline, the series is set in “a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. A young Earthbender discovers she’s the new Avatar after Korra – but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity’s destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization’s last strongholds collapse.”

I remember this, either they both are twin avatars or one of them is. Ones rich with combat expertise and the other is poor & an amputee I believe.

The synopsis of this new show has me wondering the fukk she been doing the whole time because her actions at the end of LoK left her with peak Avatar powers.

There's probably a pretty long timeskip between the end of LoK and this.

We don't know how long Korra lived but I think it's like 70 something years from the end of ATLA to the start of LoK. I'm just curious if we'll find out how she died and if it was in a more interesting way than Aang.

Apparently some sort of cataclysm happened between Korra and this, so they might have gone backwards in terms of technology.
