Why do I hear that drum pattern in almost every modern R&B/Trap song?

It starts at 0:16 and its a kick and then a hi hat and then some kind of roll with claps? I'm not exactly sure but I hear this exact same pattern in so many songs. Anyone else notice this? I'm not a producer but I'm just wondering, is this some shyt producers do? Using the same patterns? Why is this so common?

It's either or.
On some G shyt, it's so easy to do when you're programming, you don't even have to use a loop pack.
You literally just quick-chop a 16th or 8th roll with 1 click now...The note repeat cheat, too.
