Don't even know why they changed the old one tbh, but it's allright. The one on the top seems a lil too "corporate" imo

They should have just gone with the original logo.
We could not simply go back to the original Hornets logo. The NBA’s operating standards do not allow teams to adopt old logos as an everyday identity. Also, we wanted to have something that was unique and embodied the characteristics of hornets, the city of Charlotte and our organization, so we opted to have both a new primary logo and the modernized Hugo logo. Finally, the team last played in Charlotte during the 2001-02 NBA season, and any brand would undergo some sort of evolution in 12 years.
Can't wait for next year! Nice touch on the basketball shaped abdomen.Lol everyone wanna be something city since the Clippers.Logo is straight but Buzz City is lame as hell.

Lets never speak of the bobcats again![]()
Thats how branding works man, I went to school for this type of shytThere's a noticeable shift is logos being redesigned to have a more corporate look to them, somewhat similar to the way car manufacturers brand themselves. No longer are the fun loveable cartoonly logos acceptable, now everything has to be 'sleek' or 'classy' so the logo has like a high end Mercedes/BMW feel to it. Logos now have to be able to mutate or morph in a way. Like someone pointed out, one of the logos looks like the Batman logo and I'm sure that's by design, especially with everyone rocking t shirts with Superhero logos on them with all these big budget SH movies dropping it would smart to try and cash in on it and the Hornets logo did it without losing it's basketball minded personality. Great job by the Hornets.
