the how blow up because of him, without him would skip have to debate, no wonder even remembers the other people
espn was basically lets just get Stephen a on their, the whole show change when Stephen a came on board be serious, Stephen a outshine skip the moment he was put on full time
The show didn't blow up until SAS came on. It went through various name changes (Cold Pizza anyone) and didn't become part of people's morning ritual until the debates started happening. When that white nikka and the alcoholic butch bytch was hosting nobody gave a fukk about it
stephen a just added on to what skip added to the show
that 1st year of big 3 era was ALL skip bayless, he was driving force that lead to the giant microscope on bron in 2010-2011 season, this is a fact
the term #clucthgene was basically a household name on twitter for nba fans, anytime lebron was involved in a big game 1st take was MUST WATCH cuz of skip
the show was highly rated until stepehen A came on full time, there is a reason why he got the job in the first place
all that other shyt was just a topic for the times like tebow, if they weren't talking about they would've been talking about something else
all the ring talk was fukking stupid
You can tell who was watching the show before 2012 and who wasn't can't you breh? nikkas in here thinking that SAS did something "new" for the show when the debate desk during the "1st & 10" block on First Take was always the draw. Skip, Dana, Jay and whoever was the guest host is what MADE First Take. The difference in opinions and the high strung arguments is what made it good tv. Not to mention that it was more respectable in regards to the hosts opinions who would then go on other shows throughout the network that day because they HAD respectable opinions. You would see that person on Jim Rome, ATH, The Rundown, SN, NFL Live too. SAS wasn't getting that treatment. He is only a bogglehead who is playing devil's advocate to Skip's opinion once Skip became "polarizing".
The fact that you don't recall how well rounded the show and its guests were prior to SAS is worth mentioning because that means you just weren't paying attention until this loud c00n ass nikka got on the show. The reason he is there is because they found out the debate desk was where the ratings spiked in the old format of FT and that was the segment that Skip produced. The other hosts contracts were expiring and I know Jay had already expressed he wanted to move on to something else for some time before that point and I think Dana did too. So with their contracts coming up, the new format proving to double the ratings and with Skips segment now being the focus with him also becoming a huge TV personality, they looked to get someone who was just as loud to contrast the "argumentative" part of the debate desk. They got SAS who is more known for how loud he says some shyt vs the content of what he is saying and it worked out. Jay moved on to host SportsCenter and I think Dana decided to take off and have another kid or something. Either way, the shows success was not predicated on SAS, it was already there. If its anyone who gets the acclaim its the marketing dept first, then skip, then the old panelists. The ratings bumped up some more after it doubled with the old cast but its been on the decline almost immediately and surreptitiously to a point that its being pushed along more and more by His & Hers. A show where you can still have popular and unpopular opinions, debate, provide facts and insight of a respectable level and STILL pander to the masses who want to see the domestic, human element of arguing for entertainment purposes vs traditional sport analytics.
Skip is the show.
There was time where they were basically interviewing people while they were guests... Stephen just meshed real good with skip, he really feeds into skips trolling and I'm guessing skip likes the guy so it worked.
Skip and Stephen A are some buffoons. Two pompous idiots who don't know anything about which they speak. Even their style of rhetoric is poor, usually lacking in factual basis, relying heavily on suppositions and prevarications. I stopped watching that dumb sh*t a while ago. Cari, on the otherhand, is a sensible, fine, fine, fine woman.
That sounds rightSkip called the higher ups and asked SAS to join the show
>SAS says this multiple time

only way Im ever watching this bullshyt again is if they bring Jalen Rose back on
"First Take e'way we great... check out that word play."![]()
