Seeing 3 TDs all from the same damn play was really disappointing. If Coombs wasn’t the best DB crooter in the country he’d already be gone.
I watched some clips of today's press conference and Day is pissed that the defense haven't figure shyt out and has to babysit for the time being. Not every coach is meant to be a coordinator and that is fine. Coombs may have to accept the fact that he strength is just coaching DBs and recruiting. There is nothing wrong with that and he tried. But you can't keep have issues where players are constantly confused on the field, having bad mismatches and getting destroy on the same play and expect to still have the same job. We have a standard for our defense and he hasn't coach the current players to the standard since he got the job last year. This cannot continue especially if we still want to compete for a playoff spot.

Coombs needs to be replaced as DC. Even if is someone else on the coaching staff.
He can’t keep calling games.
It would definitely be in-house. Day definitely aint making any changes mid season. I wouldn't even care if they let him keep the title but give someone else play calling calling duties. Yeah, everyone was happy he came back, but as we know, it's what have you done for me lately. We gave it a shot. It's clearly not working. These have been some of the worst OSU defenses ever.
And when you got hard proof (Hafley & Mattison) that someone else can get it done with the same caliber of talent, that speaks volumes to me.
