How else do you judge coaching other than winning games and getting players drafted? And who do you think is going to coach USA olympic basketball team once Coach K's contract is done? :comeon:

He took this unbelievably WACK ass nets team to the playoffs in his second yr

1997-98 New Jersey Nets Roster and Statistics | Basketball-Reference.com

We're witnessing history here. After his run is over he will be considered one of the best College Coaches ever.

Also, by your logic I guess Phil Jackson wasn't a good coach either since he always had the best players.
After his run is over he most likely will have most of his wins vacated again after some scandal

he took that same nets playoff team and went 3-17 the next year before being fired for the bum of a coach he is

he's gonna coach team usa :dead: his DR team lost to fukking Nigeria

he lost year after year in the tournaments when his teams were always favored he finally won the big one but it only took a record breaking class where every player was a nba player

he's a great salesman and pitchman but as an actual coach he's nothing special

a hustler that knows how to sell people he's the Mitt Romney of college basketball

Interesting how you don't mention his previous final fours at umass or Memphis

He might not have had any success in Jersey (nobody really did until Kidd showed up)

To imply that he is not a very good college coach is a bit of a stretch. In fact, I think its pretty impressive what he does year in and year out. Breaking the rules? Maybe, but he is playing the game...the top players want to play 1 year and leave and he is the best at bringing them in. Regardless of how he does it, who is better at getting their stock very high and helping them accomplish their dreams?

Also I am not too sure he needs to do anything too crazy behind the scenes anymore because he IS at Kentucky. The school, females walking around, the city, facilities, and of course tradition sells itself.

If you watched our 2010 team with brandon knight you'd understand why he said that(7 losses during reg season) but by March we had the best team in the country. We are going to be the youngest team in the nation next yr. Calipari tells the truth. It will be rocky in the beginning.

DR fukking sucks. Edgar Sosa was injured for a whole year and wasnt ready to contribute fukking Charlie Villanueva couldn't even make the team and al horford was coming off his injury too. Being favored doesn't mean shyt in fact those favored usually lose. No coach has ever done shyt with the nets until j Kidd showed up

they don't exist actually in the record books....but they were again teams that were favored that lost

Oh so he didn't really coach them into those game? :stopitslime:

"From 1988–96 at UMass, Calipari led the Minutemen program to five consecutive Atlantic 10 titles and NCAA Tournament appearances, including periods where the program was ranked first nationally. He finished with a 193–71 record overall, with a 91–41 record in Atlantic 10 conference games. Calipari was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year in 1992, 1993, and 1996. He was also named the Naismith, NABC, Basketball Times & Sporting News National Coach of the Year in 1996. He led UMass to its first-ever appearance in the Final Four with the play of the John R. Wooden Award winner and Naismith College Player of the Year Marcus Camby"

Thats what I'm saying. We're responding logically with facts and dude is angry as fukk just throwing out ad hominem (I doubt he knows what that means tho) attacks. Calipari has completely transformed every program he has ever been to and WINS (UMass, Memphis, Kentucky).

Then you got dudes saying he only wins because he has good players, no fukking shyt, you have to have good players to win. I guess Phil Jackson sucks too since always had the best basketball players in the world on his team. I mean, really, anyone could've coached Michael Jordan's 3peat bulls team and won the championship 3 times right?

This year will prove even more so that he is an amazing coach. Wait until UCLA fails (they technically have the #1 recruiting class) they got like 4 5stars.
