Have you played Kingdom Hearts? If KH is considered a RPG, then this will be, too. It's made by the same guy, and they've always said it was going to be an evolution of the KH battle system which birthed the action-rpg concept. Anyone who says otherwise is watching that video without any context.

to be like a KH title where they didn't have the disney handcuffs on.
A little more "mature" in content, similar combat system etc.

Im definitely not sold yet. Final Fantasy has fallen off damn hard, and now they are pushing a completely new battle system for the series.

It could be good, but I have my doubts.


Also I'm getting tired of these character designs. I would like a game where they go back to their roots again, like FF9 IMO. That kinda world with that atmosphere would look great on next gen. Not more anime characters

The game just doesn't look very good outside its fantastic production values (which are clearly crippling its development).

Main characters look like members of some Japanese boy band.
You can only control one character at a time. FFX (2001) was the last main game to have a traditional battle system.
They struggle to show 2 seconds of new footage each year. Each new trailer is essentially a minor update of a previous year's one.

I'd rather they just dump this and start over with something they can actually release.
