Nick is talking about it now on FTF and he's admitting that he knew about the poker games but stayed away because his friends warned him that they were rigged and he expects more retired players to be identified to be involved with this.

There are other reports and an X link in the other big thread around the arrest where people have said the same thing.Nick is talking about it now on FTF and he's admitting that he knew about the poker games but stayed away because his friends warned him that they were rigged and he expects more retired players to be identified to be involved with this.

Sounds like pretty much everyone involved in the private poker scene in NY, LA, Miami knew about these poker games and the smart players knew which ones to stay away from because they knew who was running them. There are other reports and an X link in the other big thread around the arrest where people have said the same thing.
It was an open secret in that scene, they warned some, others still went even though they were warnedI wonder if the private scene knew and was just letting fools go the rigged games to get shook down with no warning.

". He told the dude, "I know the ppl who run it, I know it's not legit

Kinda hard wn you got ppl vouching that the games were legit too. One of the pod clips posted said some dude told him "I know for a fact the game legit". He told the dude, "I know the ppl who run it, I know it's not legit

I mean hes correct as to why^ His breakdown of what makes poker games illegal, the rake
So that means them tonk/pitty pat games be illegal since they take rakes![]()
I mean hes correct as to why
basically only casinos or licensed places are allowed to take rake
in other words, if youre making a profit on taking a cut by hosting a game, it is illegal

not sure what you meanYou sure it's not just a verbiage and explicit act of taking a cut thing ?
Meaning you pay a sizable comfort fee that includes security, drinks & food. Kinda like time & companionship with women and whatever happens is between consenting adults.... vs prostitution.
not sure what you mean
rake is % of pot that is taken from every pot that has a flop
its derived from money on the table and each hand that is played (if everyone folds to one guy and there isnt a flop there is no rake)
rake is not the same thing as an entry fee or whatever
I get what youre saying...but you get more money via rake than if you take set moneyOk, I understand the the logic of rake if a lot of money is on tables over the course of the event. But why not just charge a cover then you have nothing to worry about legally? Are these not multi table events!?? 50 people and you charge $5000 to enter and you get some food and drink plus the security?
the game, the higher the rake
