What intrigues me is how it appears that this is the 2nd show to be greenlighted. So, if this show fails (in viewership), it will be easy for HBO to halt the two other shows about black nuclear families.

None of these 3 shows have been green lit. These are strictly development deals, not pilot or series orders. The black nuclear family drama set in 90s LA was announced 2 months ago and is likely first in the pipeline, ahead of the other two.

It's interesting when @PhonZhi makes threads about how detrimental rap music has become with much of its drug and violence agenda, or when women say that rap promotes sexism and mysoginy many of the same outraged posters in here deny its affects. Yet, suddenly this one television show is the downfall of black makes? It doesn't make sense. Either we admit that all media is influencing, or we don't. You can't just pick and choose when you want to say something is pushing a certain agenda.

Why does being gay even have to be part of the narrative tho? If you’re a black nationalist then you’ve got to understand how the promotion of the homosexual lifestyle is detrimental to our empowerment as a community despite being gay yourself. You’re black before you’re gay.
