:mjlol: NJC is a classic bad movie. It happens :yeshrug: I love it, but it's bad. Like I love "I'm Bout it" but objectively that shyt is terrible. NJC-I watched it as a kid first and loved it, but as I got older it had a lot of shyt that had me like :dwillhuh: . Like the below. Why is this dude smoking crack out of nowhere and over this?

Although Wesley is my favorite actor. New Jack City is my LEAST favorite movie of his. Yeah, I know many consider this to be the essential Snipes (at his best) film but I just don't care for it. Maybe it has a lot to do with the tone of the movie or the acting itself which in my opinion was a bit pedestrian when you look at Wesley's movies that followed.

He's starred (and acted) in way better movies that this falls near the bottom in his filmography. New Jack City is more iconic due to its deception of Crack, the timeframe of it's location being late 80s/early 90s gritty NYC, and other things but I don't thick the movie has aged too well in retrospect compared to other gritty NYC crime thrillers released around that era (late 80s/early 90s).
