Just watched Kenny/Ishii. Very good match as to be expected, but the first half was really lacking any juice. Last 5-10 minutes lived up to its potential though. I really hope they aren't burying Omega. This makes no sense.

Gonna watch Suzuki/Shibata later

@Adam3000 they are not burying Omega. It's the damn New Japan Cup, this kind of stuff happens every year.

I hope these results were chosen for an Ishii or Shibata title match against Okada. It would a breath of fresh air and it would also mean a (most likely) dope match. If they give it to Fale or EVIL :why: :snoop: it is weird MiSu hasn't gotten a big win yet though. They could've saved the Shibata match for the semis or even the finals...

The reason I said that about Omega is that if he truly is only going to be in NJPW for one more year, his time is running out for a title run. He won't get the next title shot since he lost in the Cup, and its tough to imagine him holding onto the belt going into Wrestle Kingdom, and it would also be sort of odd for him to have the title when the G1 Climax ends and then lose it between then and WK. I'm just worried that time is running out on him.

We will still get great matches from him, but staying in NJPW for just one more year would be fairly stupid if it doesn't involve a title run, given his status in January

EDIT: Of course, my preference is a Naito/Omega main event at WK, but the smart money is Okada being there instead

Omega will win the title soon enough. They're going to do the Adam Cole thing for the next month or two and then he should win it in the summer.

Bout to watch but Ishii beating anybody isn't really an upset. Some of yall not familiar with Ishii? :usure:

Ishii could have a 2 year undefeated run and I would still look at him like the underutilized dude he was for years :heh: I hope he gets the title shot, I've been asking for him to get one for more than 3 years :damn: :mjcry:

I'm pretty sure Omega would be more than fine with facing Ibushi at the Dome with no title involved :pachaha:

Regarding if it was smart of him staying or not I guess it depends on the point of view. How you will be feel about it as a fan? how much money Omega is gonna make or just hoping Gedo's booking pays off (:mjpls:).

If Omega staying would only be validated with a title run (weird way of looking at it imo) there's a fukk ton of time until Janissary 4th 2018. Losing the April title shot doesn't mean anything tbh. Kenny could just as well get the title in May-July and he could still have a long reign.

The real money should be in Okada vs Naito at the Dome but who the fukk knows what are lazy ass Gedo's plans.
