New Justice League issue features Cyborg as the leagues first black leader

If you recall, after Infinite Crisis, each DC book took place one year in the future. A narrative tool so that the writers of each title had a year of "unknown events" to play with to build up the current status quo.

The OG Teen Titans cartoon was very popular at this time. So I think the editors of Teen Titans decide it'd be fun to just shyt out a bunch of new teen heroes (lil Barda, Power Boy, Kid Frankenstein, Mas y Menos from the cartoon) /have pre existing teen heroes join the Titans over that one year span, and see what the writing teams could do with it.

Unfortunately nobody did anything with the new characters except with Power Boy (made him a Supergirl villain). And Teen Titans started selling like shyt after Geoff Johns left the title so getting good writers on the book became less a priority.

Then power boy went over like a solid fart
and they decided to brick everyone near him

idk if DC has production credits for the netflix/CW version but the fact that no civilians recognize the dudes face throws everything off for me

Cyborg as team leader makes sense. He is capable and already handled all the logistics and tech plus he is the primary form of transportation via Boomtubes.

I still rather have Martian Manhunter though.

Never cared about Cyborg (the generic name doesn't help), but it's something new and different, so let 'em cook. They are trying to boost his stock for future DC movies, but Black Lightning might've been a better choice since he has a solo TV show out right now.
