Oh yeah..the second one..the first one sucked..I had it on cassette when it dropped in 9th grade..forgot about that one..but both albums didnt change anything..
The Score is a classic album :manny:

that and Miseducation lived well beyond their shelf-life and keeps all 3 members relevant in their own ways to this day.

I don't know about classic..just cuz it's a good album doesn't mean it changed anything..I guess people think it's a classic cuz it sold alot of copies..it's not tho

i feel like it made a huge impact because what albums came before it in the same vain? a group where they sing and rap and also have a message...closest i can really think of is Bone Thugs but the average person wasnt able to comprehend anything they said.

beyond selling records, that shyt changed how you can make a record.

Drugs literally destroy your soul.

This and Yeezus, you can hear the talent and the genius and what they're trying to say but it's hot #uckin trash.

There's no soul in this music. #ucked up thing is Lauryn and Ye did a lot of work to bring real soul music back.

It's synthetic man made drugs that's to blame.
New theory: the further refined from nature a drug is the worse a user's music becomes.

Shes making excuses for not playing the game right. Pay your taxes. What was this bytch really thinking. She had unpaid taxes and got on the radio talking about Nicki Minaj, WITH UNPAID TAXES. It was a foregone conclusion that her destruction was imminent.

As for this song? fukking TRASH. Shes just trying to be wrong and strong, filling her obligation to Sony by releasing a song but releasing fukking Garbage just to make her quota. She shoulda kept this garbage in the studio. Seriously.

I don't get this comment by you....Are you referring to the tweet about Nicki Minaj? You do know that was her coming to Nicki' s defense after the R
Lauryn's a phoenix, f y'all:to:

Just deal with it. Lauryn is wack.

She had an opportunity to release her second solo(I don't count unplugged) Black Rage and her third solo Hip Hop Ain't Dead and she blew it

I fukk with the production and her flow ain't that bad and the direction of the content was there...the beat needed to find a bit longer of a melody and the flow needed the same...less staccato. I also can't take any preachiness from her being that she got lost in the sauce over a dude, had five of his kids, and got dropped and unclaimed by him, she's also been such an @sshole to her audience and industry peeps/fugees members. But I know if she gets over her ego and stops making music for her, and thinks about her audience, she's still capable of dropping something dope, but the bytch has been a narcissist for the past decade so who knows where she'll go.

And it's her narcissistic attitude is what makes her think she can have a 10+ year layoff without any songs released and think she can just come back with the same flow and confidence on the mic like it's 1998 :mjpls:

You're arguing against yourself with the bolded.
What's soul music? Did Sly Stone make soul music, does Prince? You can't be considered a genius if you keep producing the same art. Talented artists are constantly pushing and moving the genre in a different direction. It's up to the audience to accept it or dismiss it. Most artists hope that their core fans musical tastes grow and become refined. Like when you a kid and enjoyed hamburgers, but you got older and discovered steak. You don't totally abandon hamburger, but if a choice cut steak is presented to you, then more than likely you are going to choose the steak.

It's also dismissive to attribute their change in musical styles to synthetic drug use, especially without any proof.

"Their music doesn't sound like Al Green's anymore, they must be on "dem bath salts" :ld:

It's like saying Picasso or Van Gogh were opiate addicts and that's why their art changed all the time, Instead of just crediting them with being genre pushing artists.
