It's a Frankenstein mashup of 4 or 5 other cars, none of which they took the best parts from...

I always said the negative of the Maxima was no AWD or RWD variant.

You don't think they thought about it for years?

They keep it FWD because otherwise they're competing with themselves via Infiniti.


Gotta see this in person but it looks bloated in pics and the pickup truck grill is far from sporty.


The last gen aged gracefully and design wise it looked great.

Are they doing this on purpose? Every other gen of Maxima is a fukkup.

pre '04 can be argued as best gen, last max to be built in Japan, offered 6MT and can be considered sporty. Ever since the success of the G line, Maxima development has been stale.

Agreed. I've owned 3 maximas, and currently drive an 07 max. This shyt is ugly. The grille is stupid looking, that light gray bar needs to go. The rims look like it came from a basic Accord. Maxima always had the best stock rims. I also hate that sharp convergence to the trunk/ back of the car on this and the new infinitis. I like my car to have a fat ass son.

When I decide that I want a new Maxima, the search ends at the 2014.
