Why wouldn't it? They literally released the last PS2 game 2 months before the PS4 dropped. 360 was out for 3 years before the plug was pulled on the Xbox.

A simple fighting game doesn't need to be "next gen only" to be good. Hell Killer Instinct could've easily been on 360. Anyone saying otherwise is just stanning.
