this movie was in production roughly the same time has django..And did you actually watch django? cuz it had very little to do with slavery certainly not enough to start claiming hes sparked a trend.

This aint the 90s breh, I will admit the way he put a satirical spin on crime/thrillers was masterful.But Django was a badly executed movie that missed the mark by a mile, less said the better

Why does every movie with a black protagonist need a cac as their savior?

Well...I don't know about other types of movies, but in the case of slavery films where negroes are going free, there were a number of white people who helped them and were an integral part of the Underground Railroad. Without those people there would have been a number of black families that didn't survive. So I'm cool with a slave being helped by an abolitionist in a movie. Its true, they have used that "White man saves everybody else..." routine for far too long but in this case its probably used correctly.

I'm sure this is going to be a great movie too but I feel about Chewy getting the brakes beat off him after being stripped of his freedom only to be saved by fukking Brad Pitt

This is a true story, not something dreamt up by Hollywood Execs for marketing purposes. I feel what you're saying, but in this case, it's what actually happened.

Also, McQueen is the best Black director in the game right now- he won't make this into a feel-good movie for white folks.
